The large deck to the side of the new school creates considerable extra useable space.  It is an extension of the floor space of the school.  It looks impressive visually, a contemporary feel.  The main reason for installing the deck lies in the fact that the ground slopes steeply towards the river on the right.  All other solutions bring with them their own problems and issues.  The Deck25 handrail system creates a primary safety barrier.  The perimeter fence is the secondary barrier (on the left.)

As the National School is a public building, the decking material had to have high slip resistant value both in dry and wet conditions.  Deck25 composite decking was the perfect choice.
Equally important were aesthetics and colour.  The Low Maintenance nature of Deck25 represents substantial cost savings by eliminating yearly painting or treating.
