Smoking Shelter

Project Overview

The GAA Football and Social Club is at the heart of this rural loughside community.

This semi-roofed beer garden and smoking shelter was constructed to the front of the social club to serve several functions:

  • To cater for the clients who wish to smoke (Smoking Ban Legislation)
  • Increase floor area of the licensed premises for local events eg Big Lough Sunday
  • As Maghery Social Club sits less than 100m from the Blackwater River, at the South Eastern mouth of Lough Neagh (the largest fresh water lake in Western Europe) it will be an important stopping off point for pleasure boats, once the Ulster Canal reopens, joining Lough Neagh with the Erne / Shannon Waterway.

Deck25 was chosen to deck the beer garden  of this smoking shelter for its low maintenance, anti-slip and ease of cleaning properties.  The Silver Grey Deck25 compliments the vertical galvanised steel posts of the wind shield.  The polycarbonate glass encloses this beer garden smoking shelter and makes an exceptionally strong windbreak to help reduce wind chill from Lough Neagh on a windy day.  The Black Deck25 perimeter skirt matches the black posts of the canopy.
