Commercial Decking

This ocean front complex contains 24 apartments most with their own private balcony / terrace decking .  All balconies face the Atlantic Ocean.  The 3 most important factors governing the choice of which decking material to use were low maintenance, durability and slip resistance.
Deck25 terrace decking was chosen because it is a high quality low maintenance material that is solid throughout its depth.  It has excellent resistance to severe weather conditions and salt water.  It also has excellent anti-slip properties.

The GAA Football and Social Club is at the heart of this rural loughside community.

This semi-roofed beer garden and smoking shelter was constructed to the front of the social club to serve several functions:

·

To cater for the clients who wish to smoke (Smoking Ban Legislation)

·

Increase floor area of the licensed premises for local events eg Big Lough Sunday

·

As Maghery Social Club sits less than 100m from the Blackwater River, at the South Eastern mouth of Lough Neagh (the largest fresh water lake in Western Europe) it will be an important stopping off point for pleasure boats, once the Ulster Canal reopens, joining Lough Neagh with the Erne / Shannon Waterway.

This unique self build, passive house project was designed to maximise the value of its lakeside location. This property was featured recently on Irish television (RTE) hosted by Duncan Stewart.  The programme was dedicated to new eco friendly, carbon neutral building technologies.

The wall panels of this passive house were manufactured in Austria and arrived fully glazed and insulated.  The house is heated by a geo thermal heating system.  The heat pipes rest on the bottom of the half acre lake.  The solar tubing system adds additional hot water to the heating system.

Deck25 composite decking extends the sun lounge of Ballaghboy Lodge guest house in Ballinafad, Co Sligo.  The Deck25 low maintenance composite decking and handrail system will never have to be painted or treated, looks fantastic and adds to the beauty of the Lodge blending comfortably into its natural surroundings.

A selection of balcony projects we have been involved with recently

  1. Photo 1 and 2: A large balcony decking supported by a galvanised steel frame. The balcony decking is perfect for entertaining on a warm summer evening. The balcony decking is finished with a stainless steel and tinted glass balustrade system. Deck25 Atlantic grey was an ideal match for this balcony decking.
  2. Photo 3 and 4: This small balcony decking provides stunning views towards the Atlantic Ocean and Low Maintenance Deck25 ensures hassle free enjoyment.
  3. Photo 5 and 6: Two large balconies' for adjoining properties were an integral part of the design concept. The uniqueness of the site overlooking Kinsale harbour necessitated a grand design type decked terrace.
  4. Photo 7 and 8: Practical Balcony decking providing access to a  games room/bar. the owners spend many summer evenings enjoying the company of friends and family overlooking the Mourne Mountains

Glass balustrade

Decks over 400mm off the ground should have a safety barrier or a glass balustrade

Glass balustrade with a stainless steel post and railing system is the most expensive handrail system. The main advantage of a stainless steel glass balustrade  with 10mm or 12mm toughened safety glass is that it allows full visibility through the glass balustrade handrail system.

Use of a Stainless Steel glass balustrade system (normally 316 grade) is an architectural statement. It is generally reserved for exceptional sites with stunning views

The stainless steel glass balustrade post system is locked in place between the floor joists and the header joist. An additional sleeve is face fixed to the deck for extra strength.
The maximum distance that the stainless steel posts can be spaced apart is 1.2m as this is the maximum distance the toughened glass panels will span while maintaining full strength. The top handrail is welded on site by our teams of specialist welders. Only 316 grade stainless steel is used as it is maintenance free and exceptionally resistant to the salt in sea air.
